Patricia Ann Smith

of San Antonio, TX

May 27, 1946 - July 14, 2016

Patricia Ann Stricklin Smith, 70, of San Antonio, TX, formally of North Little Rock, AR, went to be with her heavenly father on July 14, 2016. She was born on May 27, 1946 to Richard Hiram (Dick) and Daisy Lackie Stricklin in Scott, Arkansas.

She attended Scott School and graduated from England High School. She was a member of All Souls Church in Scott, Arkansas, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the Church Choir, served on the church board, and was the unofficial greeter/hugger. For the last 4 years, she was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas. She was a hairstylist/friend/counselor to many in North Little Rock, Arkansas for over 40 years. Her greatest calling started five years ago with the title of Nana.

Patricia's love was given in abundance to her family. She loved family traditions and gatherings. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John Smith; her daughter, Johnelle Sparks and her husband, Corey Sparks, and the two greatest joys of her life, her grandsons, Corey Shepard (Shep) Sparks, Jr. and John Patrick Sparks; sister, Shelia Vaught, and brother, Ricky Stricklin; brothers-in-law, Larry Vaught, Bobby Henson, and Jimmy Smith; sisters-in-law, Kim Stricklin and Verna Smith Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, and two sisters, Barbara Ruple and Betty Henson.

Patricia lived her life with excitement, a fierce love and commitment to family and friends, and a strong Christian faith. She had a huge impact on many people and her infectious love will be sorely missed.

We will celebrate her life at Trinity United Methodist Church in San Antonio, TX on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10AM and at All Souls Church in Scott, AR on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10AM. Arrangements under the direction of Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, AR 72116, (501)-791-7400.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Souls Church, 4601 Walkers Corner Road, Scott, Arkansas 72142.

Julie and I are so sorry for your loss. May our Heavenly Father bring you comfort for your grief and hope for your future, knowing you will see Patricia again because of her faith, and your faith in Jesus. "The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you." We will all miss Patricia. I was so glad that we had a good visit
at the Scott Connections dinner this Spring. She looked so happy and seemed to be doing so well, I was shocked when I heard the news. Prayers for the family.

Johnny and Johnelle, et al, Please know how much we loved and adored Patricia. All three of my daughters felt the same. Ginger looked at her as "another momma"! I am asking The Holy Spirit to hold ya'lls hands and pour His peace and contentment, comfort and joy down over ya'll, like warm honey. Lovingly, Libbie Dougan. Phil. 4:13
