of North Little Rock, AR
March 6, 1911 - August 25, 2015
On August 25, 2015, at the age of 104 years, Ocie Ola Garrison was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ocie was born on March 6, 1911 in Banks, Arkansas.
She was the last of her 14 siblings to make this journey, being preceded by her parents, Alfred Garrison and Annie Eubertis Reaves Garrison, along with seven sisters and seven brothers, Johnnie Whitehead, Florence Hobson, Clara "Sister" Garrison, Mett Garrison, Craven "Bubba" Garrison, Paul Garrison, Lawrence Garrison, Ted Garrison, Max Garrison, Sr., four infant sisters and one infant brother who awaited her arrival. She will be missed by five generations of nieces and nephews who will miss her stories of family and growing up long ago.
Ocie dedicated her life to caring for family. Her caring nature was evident in her service as a nurse at Arkansas Children's Hospital for 35 years. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2015 at Roller-Owens Chapel Funeral, 5509 John F. Kennedy, North Little Rock (501-791-7400). Interment will follow at McFarland Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. in Banks, AR. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
I worked at Arkansas Children's Hospital on the same shift as Ocie. We worked in different wards, but just down the hall. We were a much smaller hospital then, and it felt more like a family. She was a very nice person to know, and loving and caring to the little patients in her care.
My sympathy to her family and friends, who I know will miss her.
Dear Family and Friends,
It was joy to have known Aunt Ocie. She was a caring lady and one who loved her family.. And now she is reunited with her wonderful family.
Thanks Jim and Inez for taking care of this precious lady...
