Gerald Fred Martz, 87, of Marion passed away on Friday, August 25, 2018 at his home.
''Jerry'' was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, and graduated from Devilbus High School and the University of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred D. Martz and Mayme Bade Martz, two brothers, James and Charles Martz, a son Fred Martz of Vero Beach, FL, and his first wife Joyce Klag Martz.
Jerry is survived his wife of thirty seven years Jeanie Hale Martz of Marion, a daughter, Wendy Hendrickson of Marion, and Leslie Rouquette of Memphis, TN, two grandchildren, Carolyn Martz of Vero Beach, FL, and Jerry Martz of Palm Bay, FL, one great grandson Jordon Martz, and two step children Chris Crain of Marion, and Laura Otto of McKinney, Tx.
Jerry joined the Marine Corp and served in the Korean War, he was a member of Baker's Bandits. He was wounded and spent a years in Great Lakes Naval Hospital, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Jerry was employed by Owens Illinois in Toledo and American Lubricating in Memphis, Tn.
