Jimmy Edward Swafford, 84, of West Memphis, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
He was born August 8, 1933, in FT. Smith to Turner and Eva (Johnson) Swafford.
Jimmy graduated from the University of Arkansas, served in the United States Air Force.
He was a member of the First Baptist, the Lions Cub and was an avid Razorback fan.
Jimmy worked for the IRS until he retired in 1989, then he worked in insurance and real estate and also for the State of Arkansas until he retired again.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brother; Eugene Swafford.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Dean (Barlow) Swafford, sons; Wayne Eugene Swafford, Joseph Edward (Leslie) Swafford, daughter; Victoria Lou Swafford, grandchildren; Erin Victoria Swafford, Lindsey Brooke Swafford, Bailey Brooke Swafford and Jordan Heflin, brother; Thomas Swafford, sisters; Betty Honey, Elizabeth Elmore and Joann Gosnell.
Dorothy, I am so sorry to hear Mr. Jimmy passed away. He fought long and hard with his health over the years. He was a strong man for sure. He will be missed by many. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
