You were my best friend in school, Donnie,
. We lost touch, but I will never forget you and your family.
Donnie was in our life for only a short time in the 1970's. He was playing baseball at Ohio Valley College in Parkersburg, WV. He spent alot of time with our family. Dad enjoyed the outdoors and he shared many hunting, trapping and fishing interests with Donnie. He was a great " big brother" to my younger siblings. I think he really missed his brothers and sisters back home. We lost touch with him , but, thought of him often. We even tried to look him up when my niece went to school in Arkansas. My brother-in-law summed it up the best - He must have been a very special person to give you such good memories that have lasted nearly half a century. He was such a blessing in our lives,
our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
I will never forget all the time he invested in me in softball so many years ago trying to make my little 35 lb. tail into an athlete! I should've been in ballet or something! (haha) I've always loved Donnie Fraley and appreciated how good he was to my siblings and me; and every thought of him through the years has led my heart to Aunt Joann and the reality that he is her firstborn son and how it would break her heart to know the pain he has seen here. I have been praying since hearing he was sick that he would 1. be at peace and 2. have no pain... and now I am certain that both of those are his....Praise The Lord!
We will miss you Doc.
We wish you all comfort and Blessings during this time of sorrow. Will be praying for all the family and friends of Donnie. Love and Prayers!!
I am sorry to read about Donnie. I happened upon this obituary and recognized the name immediately. My father Austin Hanner was the superintendent at Turrell and my mother Wilma also worked in the office at the school. Daddy passed away this past October, but Mother and I remember the whole family. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Susie, I think you will remember me and I am really sorry for your loss!
