Dickie, Amy and family, we are so sorry to hear of your moms passing. If there ever were a true southern lady with charm and elegance. It was Mrs. Howard. Always a smile on her face and laughter in her heart. She certainly loved her family Always remember what a lady she was and role model for other ladies. Our sympathy is with you all!

All,
My thoughts have been of your family since I was made aware Mrs. Joyce had passed away.
We so enjoyed seeing her at the Gunnison Methodist 100th, Mother and Father spoke with such fondness of the Howards!

To Joyce's family, I was surprised today when my husband read to me that your Mom had new wings. Although, I know you all will miss her, as I will too, she lived her earthly time toward her heavenly time. We were so happy to meet her when we moved to Marion in the early 70s because she was Kelly, one of our twin's, second grade teacher. I always enjoyed her voice and her distinctive drawl. She had a contagious joy about her. She was an extremely striking lady back then and continued to be very attractive as she aged. I should not have been taken aback with her age, had I related her age to mine, but I was. To me, she never aged. We enjoyed a trip to the Holy Land with her in our group. I will treasure my memories and time spent with her as I know the family will as well. Take comfort in knowing she made it home if her life here reflected where she is now. With deep respect for a southern lady. Sincerely, Chris Shoemake

So sorry to learn that Joyce passed away. Had such a good visit with her when she was in the hospital in late April. She was in the room right beside my mother-in-law. I know you will all miss her terribly, but she's not having trouble breathing today. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

We wish to extend our condolences to the family at this time. May you be comforted by the promise of the resurrection and the knowledge that soon death will be no more and never again will we have to bury our loved ones. God makes this wonderful promise to is at Isaiah 25:8 where it states that he will "swallow up death forever." I hope you find solace in these words.
