Chester Leo Thompson

of Franklin, TN

August 23, 1943 - April 18, 2015

C. Leo Thompson, age 71, of Franklin, TN, went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 18, 2015 following an extended illness.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years Martha Thompson, father, Joseph Thompson and mother, Ila Wonsey. He is survived by 2 sons Michael (Allie) Thompson of Vancouver, Canada, Gary (Audrey) Thompson of Franklin, Tennessee, his grandchildren Tyler and Wesley Thompson, and his brother Chester (Joyce) Thompson of Marion, Arkansas and sister Inez Reavis of Turrell, Arkansas.
Leo was born August 25th 1943, in Lepanto, Arkansas. He spent most of his life in West Memphis, Arkansas, where he was surrounded by family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He worked as an electrician for many years. He also enjoyed the hobby of trading in precious metals and jewelry. After retiring, he moved to Florida for a short period before moving to Franklin, TN, to be close to his grandkids. He cherished the opportunity to watch his grandkids grow up.
Leo will be remembered for many things, but mostly his quick wit and life inspired personal stories and observations. Anyone that met him was immediately overtaken by his engaging personality and inquisitive nature. He never met a stranger and always had a humorous message to share.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Roller Citizens Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be on Wednesday, at 2:00pm at Roller Citizens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, AR.
