Evelyn Marie Darby, 73, of West Memphis, Arkansas passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Ms. Darby retired from Meyer's Supercenter in Lansing, MI and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Allie Austin; a sister, Mary Williams; three brothers: Mervin, Charles and Edward Austin; and by a granddaughter, Brittney Sitzes.
Ms. Darby is survived by 4 daughters: Susan Scott (Bill) of Hernando, MS and Patty Darby, Nancy Griffith and Cindy James all of West Memphis, AR; by 2 sons: Billy Darby of Jacksonville, NC and Ricky Darby (Debbie) of Marion, AR. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Linda Southall (Jerry) of West Memphis, AR and Dorothy Martin of Marked Tree, AR; and 1 brother, Larry Austin (Jan) of Wichita, KS.
Visitation will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis on Monday, August 18, 2014 evening from 6:00-8:00pm.
Services will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, AR immediately following the service.

What a wonderful sister she was. Always kind and trying to care for everyone else. I shall never forget her saying to a nurse in the hospital, you go see what that man in the next room needs-he keeps calling for a nurse and I can wait. Go take care of him first! That's just the way she was and I loved her so much.. I miss her every day. I sometimes wonder why the Lord takes such wonderful people and leaves the "bad" ones to torment the world. Although she is now where she wanted to go my heart aches for her. Evelyn was dearly loved and will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. To those who didn't have the pleasure of knowing her, what an opportunity you missed. I have been blessed, privileged and honored to have her as my sister.

I am so sorry for your loss. Evelyn was one of a kind. She will be missed by many. She was always on the go. I am sure she has found a new casino in heaven with great pay outs. I will miss you Evelyn. thank you for being a great family friend.
