Besides being a wonderful cook, she was a wonderful person. We used to have such good talks. I enjoyed working with her at Shawnee for many years, and I remember what a wonderful attitude she had when she moved to be closer to you, Brenda. I know she will be missed. Rest in peace, old friend.

Sweet Mrs. Gwaltney. I grew up down the street from her and went to Joiner Baptist Church with her. I remember my dad, Herschel Vaughn speaking of her often. My dad, Herschel just entered into the gates of heaven about 2 weeks ago. I know he is one of the first standing at the gate welcoming her in to heaven. One of my fondest memories of her was one Halloween when she glued juicy fruit gum, lifesavers, hershey's kiss, and other candies together to create a choo choo train and if I'm not mistaken, she attached a Jesus' loves you message to minister to us kids. I think she knew what pinterest was before pinterest. My sympathies to your family. Praise the Lord that she is now with Jesus!

What fond memories come flooding back - wonderful days at Shawnee High School with Mrs. Gwaltney at the helm. I had the privilege to work in the cafeteria with Mrs. Gwaltney, Mrs. Haskett, and others I can't name at the moment. Wonderful women, strong role models for a naïve girl of the early 60's. And how I remember her yeast rolls - beyond compare. My deepest sympathies to her family. She was a treasure.

I'm so glad I got to visit with Aunt Myrtle in June - after maybe 30+ years! I really enjoyed talking with her. It was clear that she appreciated the love and care she received from her family. I know you will all miss her very much. She was an amazing lady.
