Tommy Yates, 53, of West Memphis, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Born October 25, 1960 in Osceola, AR; he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crawfordsville. Most of his adult life was spent in Osceola and West Memphis in the dry cleaning industry. Many knew him as a man who loved his church, entertaining, and telling jokes.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Carol Yates; brother: Jimmy Yates, and granddaughter: Alisa Jo McCullar. Survivors include his wife of 10 years: Lynn (Coatney) Yates, West Memphis; four sons: T. J. Yates, Etowah, AR, Kenny Yates and Chris Yates both of Marion, AR, and Dustin Raper, West Memphis; one daughter: Alison Lemons, West Memphis; six grandchildren: Austin Yates, Corey Yates, Zoey Yates, Frankie Yates, Taryn Lemons and Jaci Lemons; two brothers: Billy (Gail) Yates, and Michael (Debbie) Yates both of Jonesboro, AR; and three sisters: Debbie Underwood, Cordova, TN, Rita Davison (Ken), Osceola, AR, and Beth Yates, Tuscaloosa, AL
I am so heart broken to find out that you left this life so many years after you passed... thank you Tommy for being my friend and always looking out for me. you were one of the best.... man you sure could make a bomb fire at the river were we all enjoyed and loved each other. love you Tommy. You will always be in my heart.

Was heartbreaking to hear this!! Had a lot of good memories with tommy! My thoughts and prayers are with Lynn and the rest of the family!
