Walter Allen Starr, 66, of Beebe passed on August 22, 2018 at his home. He was born on January 20, 1952 in Henryetta, OK to Amos and Elizabeth Starr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Frankie Starr and one grandson, Victor Morgan.
Walter is survived by his wife Wilma Mae Starr; three sons, Walter (Keesha) Starr II, Leland, NC, Dennis Mitchell, Okmulgee, OK, Robert (Muriel) Mitchell, Ferndale, WA; three daughters, Crystal (Mark) Starr Jones of Smithfield, VA, Linda (Mike) Fricke, Clinton, AR, Susan (Roger) Warden, Perry, OK; one sister, Etta Checotah, Okmulgee, OK; two brothers Harry (Sheldon) Starr, Okmulgee, OK and Edward (Linda) Starr, Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Walter was very proud of his heritage as a Native American Indian and an American Citizen who served his country during the Vietnam War. He loved to pass it on to his family and friends many things about his rich heritage. He would make medicine pouches and moccasins for his grandchildren and would teach them their importance. He loved the outdoors by being in nature and was tenderhearted for all the beauty around. He was well known for his art work but pictures that he would draw to the knives along with bow and arrow sets that he would make. He was an excellent leather craftsman and was known for making holsters for others.
Funeral Service is set for Monday, August 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Northside Church of Christ in Beebe, Arkansas with the Interment to follow at East Oakland Cemetery in Mt. Home at 2:30 PM under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas.
