Ruby Mozelle Marsh
November15, 1922-October 8, 2017
Ruby Mozelle was the fourth child born to the late James Earl Baker, Sr., and Clara Marsh Baker. She was born November 15, 1922 in Pangburn, Arkansas and departed this life on Sunday October 8, 2017, leaving behind an extended family who loved her dearly and whom she loved in return. She was preceded in death by her husband, Halley Marsh, her parents, one brother Elmer Baker and three sisters, Lola Vernon, Genevie Baker and Bobbie Baker.
She is survived by one brother, James Earl Baker, Jr. (Charlsie) a sister Patsy Baker both of Pangburn. Mozelle's love extended to nieces and nephews, two nieces, Carol Jones (Don), and Darliss Treat (Cleve) of Pangburn, four nephews, Jerry Vernon (Linda), David Baker, Ronn Baker (Stephany) all of Pangburn and Jimmy Baker of North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Mozelle married Halley Marsh of Pangburn in 1954. Halley was an educator, being superintendent at several different schools in Arkansas. Together they shared homes in Searcy, Griffithville, and North Little Rock. Their home was always open to friends and family especially birthdays and holidays. After the death of Halley, Mozelle moved back home to Pangburn to be close to family and friends.
Following graduation from Pangburn High School Mozelle worked as a telephone operator, when Pangburn had a central office. After the telephone service became dial Mozelle worked at M.M. Cohn in Little Rock, Western Auto in North Little Rock and a long tenure at Van Atkins in Searcy. Mozelle always loved her work family as well as her church family. She was a member of the Downtown Church of Christ, where she and Halley enjoyed worshiping.
Mozelle was the Monarch of the family. She was a woman of great strength and character, always sacrificing her needs to help others. She was the first to step forward if a family member was in need of help. She had a special calling to help people in crisis. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed by so many that loved her. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel special and loved. She was a very special lady. She will always live within our hearts. We request that Mozelle's legacy of unyielding, unconditional love be continued by all that knew her.
To celebrate her life there will be a visitation at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 6-8 PM.
Funeral Services will be in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn.
Her beloved nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Marsh, Ray Wallace, Terry Butler, Jerry Vernon and Don Jones. Bro. Kenneth Roland, Jr. and Bro Alan Cook will be officiating.
