of Heber Springs, AR
September 4, 1957 - March 27, 2017
David Wayne Ratley, 59, of Heber Springs, our loving husband, father, son, brother and friend went to his heavenly home on Monday, March, 27th.
David opened Guns Plus in Searcy in 2003 and quickly became known by the community and the gun show circuit for his honesty, integrity and passion in working with people. All those who did business with David recognized that his interactions and relationships with the community came from the heart and a desire to help people in need. From his great respect for the law enforcement community, he worked closely with state, county and local law enforcement agencies to develop and promote the ''Friends of Police'' program in White County. David was a firm believer in, and advocate for family, friends and his community.
He is survived by the love of his life, Patricia Hughes Ratley of Heber Springs, his son James David Ratley (Whitney) of Searcy, his mother, Sara Ratley of Little Rock, his sister Jennice Ratley of Little Rock, brothers Stephen Todd ''Chip'' Ratley of Little Rock and Chris Ratley (Sheri), three nieces of Jonesboro, a grandson, Nate, of Searcy, a special cousin Robin Ratley Smith of Little Rock, and an extended family that spans White, Cleburne, Columbia and Drew Counties.
He was preceded in death by his daddy, Morris Wayne Ratley. They are no doubt together and catching up right now.
Visitation will be Friday, March 31st, at Roller Daniel in Searcy from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, April 1st, at College Church of Christ in Searcy at 10 a.m. Graveside will be at 12 noon at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
