Dorothy Marie Temple, 91, of Little Rock passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was born December 23, 1925 in Searcy, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Carolyn Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Paul McKelvey and Charles E. Temple.

She is survived by her Goddaughter; Debbie Wood (Michael) , Grand Godchildren; David Michael Wood II (Debra), Great Godchildren; Trace and Garrett Wood all of Tupelo, Arkansas, Grand Goddaughter; Lori Ray (Doyle) , Great God grandson Taylor Page all of Gosnell, Arkansas. She is also survived by her first cousin; Mifred Stewart and his daughter Shirley Johnston of Rose Bud, Arkansas. Great friends; Vernon and Annie Brent of Little Rock and Mrs. Dennis of Jacksonville.

Dorothy was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church. She was active in her church involvement and played the organ at her local church.

Dorothy was an Executive Secretary for the Arkansas State Board of Education and she retired after thirty years of service. She attended High school in Searcy and after graduating she continued her education at the college level. Dorothy earned multiple college degrees including her Master's Degree.

She was the past President of the Arkansas Doll Club. She enjoyed making dolls of her own and she also collected antique dolls.

Dorothy was an accomplished pianist and organist. She had a great love for music.

Dorothy will be remembered for the way she loved life. Her zeal for life was very noticeable to those around her.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at White Lake Cemetery, on Hwy 33 North in Woodruff County. Bro. Ferrell Wiggins will officiate.

To the family of Mrs. Dorothy Temple. We're so very sorry for the loss of our friend. We will certainly miss her whit and charm, a very classy lady. MAY God continue to grant you comfort during the days ahead.

Dorothy will be missed. She had extensive knowledge of doll history and enjoyed collecting antique dolls. My condolences to her family and friends.

Debbie, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I had always thought that Dorothy would live longer than her Mother, Carolyn. She was so smart and talented, it is a loss. I used to laugh when she talked about how she had two daughters, me and my sister, Lynn, without having to suffer labor! I know she was comforted by spending her last days near you, she spoke of you often. I'm sorry that we never had the opportunity to meet.
