William Shelby McCrary, Jr. 91 of Searcy died August 6, 2016. He was born July 26, 1925 in Eldorado, Arkansas, son of Shelby and Leo McCrary. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert McCrary and sister, Patsy Ruth McCrary.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Martin McCrary; daughter, Ann Illsley and grandson, Nathaniel Illsley.

He was a Christian and member of Searcy First Baptist Church and Crescent Sunday School Class. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Bill was a graduate of Little Rock High School (now Little Rock Central) and Little Rock Junior College (now ULAR) and later attended University of Tennessee, Nashville. He loved sports both as a participant and a spectator. Golf eventually became his sport and he especially enjoyed his time with CARO Senior Members Golf Association at River Oaks Country Club in Searcy.

Bill retired from Exxon Mobil after 38 years of service in various locations, beginning in Little Rock and ending in Nashville, Tennessee.

Funeral Service will be held at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in White County Memorial Gardens.
