Buton Carrol Scott of Kensett, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013. He was born July 30, 1928 in Vinity, Arkansas to the late Glenard and Nova McAllister Scott. Mr. Scott was the long-time owner/operator of G.H. Scott and Sons Hardware in Kensett, Arkansas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kensett and proudly served as School Board Member for the Riverview School District for forty years.

Mr. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia, of the home. He is also survived by five Grandchildren: Scott Phillips (Carly) and Joshua Phillips both of Searcy, D.J. Stracener, Rachel Stracener and John Daniel Stracener all of Kensett, and one Great-grand child, Evelyn Phillips, one brother, Herman Scott of Kensett and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and one daughter, Patti Stracener.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Buton Scott Scholarship fund in care of Simmons First Bank of Searcy, Arkansas or the First Baptist Church of Kensett, Arkansas.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Kensett First Baptist Church.

as he was my grandpa I loved him very much we done every thing together we laugh and hade a grate time till he died I cry still to this day and I know he wants right for me and my sister and 3 brother I loved him so much.

I really did not know him very well ,but the times I did go the hardware store he was always very helpful.he was such a nice person.he will be missed by many.I would like to take the time and tell the family that I am sorry for their loss and will be praying everyone in the family.
