I read about Lill's death this morning in the newspaper and was so stunned and sad to think my old friend and mentor has passed on. I wrote a blog about her in 2009 and think it is still appropriate. I put it on facebook in her memory.

My prayers are with the family.

Dear Williams Family,
I am so sorry that we won't be able to be with you to participate in the celebration of Lil's life..especially for Mom and to get to hug each of you. I was telling someone today about your dear sweet wife and mom...She was always so interested in what I was doing and was eager to pray for whatever need I had at the time. I appreciate so much the love and care she has shown mom in the past few years. Two months ago at Jody's funeral, I spoke to your mom (and you Dr. Williams) about an event long, long ago.. when Jody broke into your house. It always amazed me how your parents always acted as if it never happened... such love and generosity of spirit! I thanked them again. What a blessing to know your precious Lil and there truly will be a huge hole left just across the street and the hedge from mom's house by her absence from us.
God bless you all and know you are in our prayers now and in the days ahead.
love, Susan

Dear Williams Clan - This dear lady treated me as one of her own. I think she did that with all of her children's friends. It was a natural process for her. Our histories are permanently linked - Lilly and Bill attended Harding with Doug Lawyer and Charla Cranford - my parents. Charla and Lilly worked together in the library. The 2 words Mum used to describe Lilly: Kind and Funny. Isn't this the Lilly that we all knew and loved?! Moving forward with happiest of memories, love for her and her family - having a special relationship with all 4 children at different stages of my life - all treasured memories. May peace transform your sorrow as Lilly is now safely Home. Sending so much love to all of you - Tami Lawyer Bounds

Lynn to you and your family, as well as your dad and the other members of the Williams family, we send our heartfelt sympathy in the death of your mom, Lilly Elizabeth Williams. As I mentioned to you during our scrapbooking sessions, David had your dad for chemistry during our time at Harding. Families are very precious. May God wrap His arms about you and comfort you in the days ahead. Love, Leona and David Carruth, Amarillo, Texas
