I thought about Leamon today and looked to sadly find that he had passed away. I worked with Leamon for several years at SSP in the early 80’s and kept up with him after he and Jim stated H&W Wire. He was a really good person to work with and a nice person to be around.

So sorry for your loss may you find peace and comfort in the words spoken at
2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4" Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort,  who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God

Skeeter, Lena and Katie,
I am writing on behalf of myself, my sister, Shirley Mathey, and Mrs. Sam Hill and her sons. We are so sorry for your loss of a husband and a Dad. It is our loss as well, because Leamon farmed our land and through that relationship, he became a trusted friend. I did not want to believe that God called him home Wednesday night. I was notified through the Internet late that evening. I thought maybe this person had the wrong information because he did not know Leamon. Early Thursday morning I contacted Bo and Donnie called his brother in Osceola. Bo verified what I had been told was true. Leamon was an honest and good farmer. He worked hard and produced some great yields from the land. He had farmed the land for my Dad and after he and Mother's deaths, we looked no further for a farmer because he farmed the land and kept it clean as crops were grown on it. He abided by the contract we both signed and that is a mark of an honest person. As time went along, Leamon kept us abreast of the crops and anything that needed our attention. Through his efforts we all began to think of Leamon as family. I am at a loss to whom I will ask my questions. As sad as it is to lose a friend, a member of your family, we can all rejoice in knowing Leamon was a Christian and through that we do not have to wonder where he will spend eternity. If only others will make that decision early in their life, they too will have made the most important decision in their life. I pray for you all to adjust to life without Leamon's presence, and never forget his teachings to you, his life lived before you and the memories you made with him. Through those above mentioned qualities he will live on through you. As I have experienced the loss of my parents, I find myself remembering things they said or did. I even laugh thinking upon those things sometimes. We all offer our sympathy to Leamon's family and look forward to the day we can all be joined together again. I hope to see you tomorrow as we celebrate his forever home going. I might add Leamon served as a pall bearer for both our parents. To me, that is a very honorable service for some one. It is the last service they can give to another. That was special to us for him to serve our family in this way.
Sincerely,
Christine Heard Shoemake

Papaw You will never know how Thankful and Blessed I was to be called your granddaughter and you my grandfather. You taught me how to be someone. And no matter my flaws you loved me endlessly. Because of you My life was full of so many great opportunities. You always believed in me and never gave up on me. You and Nanny gave me my first memories in life. You gave me alot of firsts to be honest. If it wasn't for you I would not be half the person I am today. I probably wouldn't be even a little of the person I am today. I know that I have been failing you for the last little while and I haven't been any where near the woman you knew/taught me to be but Papaw I promise I'm gonna make you proud. I'm gonna become the woman you knew I was inside and fought so hard for me to get to be....I love you with all of me and then some more. and I miss you every day. Kiss Granny for me please and tell her I love her as well. Go enjoy being back with Granny and I'll see you when I see you.
