LTC, Thomas Lemuel Stanford, retired, of Huntsville, Al passed from this life on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in Huntsville, AL at the Magnolia Trace Nursing Center. He was born Monday, July 27. 1931 in Tulsa, OK to the late Thomas and Ellis Barnett Stanford. Thomas served his country from 1953-1974, for a total of 21 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. After his military career he was a realtor and a JROTC instructor. While living in Osceola he was involved in the Lions Club. Thomas was a member of the Lathem United Methodist Church. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, George Conditt Stanford. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Erla Stanford; one son, Lee Stanford of Huntsville; one daughter, Sharon Erla Stanford.
