James Ronald (Ron) Sapp, 79, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 in Mountain View, Arkansas. Ron was born on August 9, 1939 in Flomaton, Alabama to the late James Benjamin and Lanette (Blackmon) Sapp. Ron attended Pensacola Jr. College and Reformed Theological Seminary in Clinton, Mississippi. Ron was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked for many years at Exide Technology in Jackson, Mississippi as a plant supervisor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas and was a beloved Sunday School teacher for many years. Ron will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

Ron is survived by his wife, Betty (Cotten) Sapp of the home; four daughters, Lora White of Tucson, Arizona, Leighann Stuckey and husband Dean of Hermann, Missouri, Jamey Smith of Columbus, Georgia, and Joelle Brown of Tucson, Arizona; one brother, Robert Sapp of Pensacola, Florida; one step-son, James Ashley Davis and wife Raquel of Gadsden, Alabama; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Lanette ( Blackmon) Sapp, and one brother, David Sapp.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas, followed by a memorial service celebrating Ron's life with Brothers Jason Ingram, Cecil Hathorn, and Jerry Evans officiating.

Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honors Team and the Stone County Honor Guard.

i spent the last four months of rons life with him in rehab. he was the brother i never had i enjoyed very much our times together we laughed and shared our lives. he was and is a good man. rest now in the arms of our precious savior. will see you one day be looking for me your friend jerry

What a great friend! When I moved here,Ron was the one who introduced me to many music venues in town.I soo enjoyed his singing and guitar playing.
I actually met Ron while visiting at First Baptist Church.He invited Mary and me to attend Sunday school .Ron was the teacher,
Oh,what a great teacher! Was always studied up and prepared.
Prayers out to Betty and family.
