Marlin D. Scott, 105, of Batesville, Arkansas, formerly of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 in Batesville, Arkansas. Marlin was born June 30, 1912, to Thomas Vaughn Scott and Lucy Parlee (Evans) Scott in Ben, Arkansas.

He was a sawmill worker, farmer, and custodian at Mountain View School.
He was a member of White Water Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 79 years, Elsie Irene (Severs) Scott; three sons, Vernon Scott and wife Joyce , Jerry Scott, and Daniel Scott and wife Bonnie all of Batesville; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Vaughn and Lucy Parlee (Evans) Scott; sisters, Estel Wilson, Bonnie Bufford, and Montie Williams; brothers, Morris, Paul, and Hugh Scott.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, from 1:00-2:00 PM at White Water Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM with Brothers Gary Don Fletcher and Ludene Hudspeth officiating. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery in Ben, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Jeff Scott, Mark Scott, Grant Harrison, Austin Scott, Don Scott, and David Scott. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Bufford, Jimmy Mitchell, Gary Scott, Mike Severs, Donnie Fletcher, White Water Missionary Baptist Church Members and the staff of Mountain Meadows Nursing Home.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

Our deepest sympathy to the Scott family. We have known Mr. Scott for many years and he and Mrs. Scott were always nice and had a friendly word to all.
