Martha Pauline Norman McCarty, 85, of Fifty Six, Arkansas passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Mountain Meadows Health and Rehabilitation in Batesville, Arkansas. Martha was born on October 11, 1931 in Oil Trough, Arkansas to the late Jack and Martha ''Mattie'' Rebecca (Branscum) Balentine. Martha worked for 23 years as a floor supervisor at Blanchard Shirt Factory. Martha loved to dance, quilt, and sew. She was especially fond of sewing clothes for her family. Martha also attended Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

Martha is survived by two sons, Gary Norman and Darrell Norman both of Fifty Six, Arkansas; two daughters, Sharon Younger of Cabot, Arkansas and Myra Dick of Wichita, Kansas; twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; as well as many extended family and friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Martha ''Mattie'' Rebecca (Branscum) Balentine; two husbands, Hugh Norman and Max McCarty; one daughter, Paula Edington, and all of her brothers and sisters.

Visitation will take place on Monday, October 2, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services for Martha will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, 10:00AM at Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Gary Don Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow the services at Fifty Six Cemetery in Fifty Six, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Ronnie Anderson, Ronnie Woody, Johnny May, Gary Livingston, Jerry Younger, and Roger Morrow. Honorary pallbearers are Ace Norman, Jason Edington, Tony Edington, Rick Norman, Greg Dick, and Bob Stevens.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

I am so sorry to hear of Martha’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Reading Rev. 21:3, 4 and John 5:25 have always brought me comfort, and hopefully will do the same for you.
