October 26, 1922 - August 5, 2016

Nellie Anna Tapley, 93, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on August 5, 2016 at Highlands of Mountain View. Nellie was born on October 26, 1922 in Kahoka, Arkansas to the late W.H. and Anna (Kozan) Dickinson. Nell worked for as a homemaker and office assistant in her late husband, Andy's tax office where she was responsible for compiling tax information before Andy did the tax returns. Nell was also a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was very active in the First UMC Women's Group until recently.

Nell married Andy Tapley on September 28, 1941 in Herulaneum, Missouri. In earlier years Andy and Nell traveled throughout the U.S. with friends Joe and Maxine Wyatt. Joe planned trips, Andy did most of the driving while Nell and Maxine shopped along the way. Nell was very well known for her pies which she lovingly prepared for many church dinners. For many years Nell was the official rain/snow data collector for the AR Weather Service and earned 50 cents for each call in to report. Nell was also an avid reader and up until recently went to the library weekly reading at least 3 books per week. Nell had many hobbies which included ceramics and collecting decorative bells and birds which she proudly displayed. Nell was a flower loving person who always had many pots of beautiful plants in front of her home and on her porch which were admired by many passersby. Nell was very thoughtful and if she knew it was your birthday or anniversary you were going to get a card and you bet it would arrive early, often with a check or cash included.

Nell is survived by her niece Leanah Hampton and husband Bruno of Russellville, Arkansas; great-nephew, Jeff Aulgur of Russellville, Arkansas; great-niece Ashlea Terhune of Spokane, Washington; great-great nieces, Sloan Aulgur and Erin Aulgur, Ryan Terhune and Finley Terhune; Godchild, Amanda Barber of Hot Springs, Village, Arkansas as well as many loving extended family and special friends.
