Lawton J.R. (Tony) Tinkle entered into rest April 7, 2015 at Stone County Medical Center at the age of 87 years.
Tony was born on October 10, 1927 in Levisy Flat, Arkansas to the late Roscoe and Mabel (Dobbins) Tinkle. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church (The Dome) in Mountain View, as well as the DAV and VFW. Tony served in the Army, Air Force, and the National Guard where he proudly served his country.
Tony was a loving husband of 67 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of the home Maxine (Corter) Tinkle; one son, Michael Tinkle and wife Peggy of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one daughter, Debbie McLemore of Mountain View, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Michael Tinkle II and his daughter, Sierra Tinkle, Jason Tinkle and wife Deann; two brothers, RP Tinkle and wife Karen, and Jim Tinkle and wife Fern, as well as one sister-in-law, Gladys Tinkle; along with many friends, family, and loved ones.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Mabel (Dobbins) Tinkle, and two brothers, John and Billie Tinkle.
Visitation will take place on Friday, April 10, 2015, from 10am-12pm at First Assembly of God Church (The Dome) in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will also take place on Friday, April 10, 2015 at First Assembly of God Church (The Dome) beginning at 2:00pm with Pastor David Campbell, Pastor Bobby Ragan, and Pastor Jerry Hopper officiating. Interment will be at Levisy Flat Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers are Doc Henderson, Andy Tinkle, Tim Tinkle, Ryan Tinkle, Steve Dobbins, and Jerry Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Benny Stevens, Van Rosa, SW Mitchell, Gary McClung, Clyde Smith, and Rick Wilkins.
A loss like this is always hard but try to remember the good memories and they will help you through the pain of this loss. I'll be praying for all of you.
