Ira was a great man, he was a grandfather to me and my siblings. He and Imogene use to take us to their farm and he would take us fishing, riding, feed the cows. I remember one day I caught a duck and put it in his shed. He wasn't to trilled about it. What a great guy, a mentor and a legend to me!!
Love you always-moin

We will miss Ira and his sweet character of integrity, humility and compassion. We both feel so honored to have been blessed by knowing you and Ira. We came to Mountain View and you and Ira made us feel like we had known you forever. When we got the call early Tuesday morning that Ira had gone to meet his Lord and Savior, I was reading in the book of Proverbs, (we read a chapter in Proverbs each day of the month and was in chapter 10 for the tenth day of the month) Proverbs 10:7, The memory of the just is blessed....
I just thought, how appropriate!
He was such a sweet, just and kind man and his memory will always be with us. We love you, Carlos and Leane Jones

Ira always called my brother and I Barney. Even today I call my good friends Barney as a term of endearment. Ira always talked about his farm down on Sylamore and how his cows could make money just standing still. He always siad that the smell of "cow pies" was the smell of money.

When Ira and Imagene lived in Boulder City, Nevada, my brother Steve, and I worked summers with Ira for my dad, Willie Nash. After a long day working in Las Vegas on a construction job, dad would be driving home with the four us in the cab of '63 chevy pickup. Dad would be driving and drift a bit on the road, and Ira would say, "Bill those sign posts can't dodge." Ira had a litany of 'one-liners' and jokes that kept the family laughing. His spirit, attitude, warm hearted friendliness lives forever in my thoughts.

I just had a thought, my grandad Ray Thomas, Uncle Deck, Uncle Tutor met Ira Tuesday evening. Wow. What a glorious moment.

Ira was always a favorite to all who knew him and will be missed by all who loved him. My heart is saddened at his departure and I know Toot will be lonely in his absence because he was always by her side. We know heaven is an even sweeter place because Ira Thomas has arrived. My prayers go out for his loved ones who will have to wait their turn to join him. So sorry for your loss, Love you, Brenda
