Clovis Evelea Hankwitz

of Mountain View, AR

October 1, 1922 - May 10, 2014

CLOVIS EVALEA POFF HANKWITZ, 91, went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, May 10, 2014. She was born October 1, 1922, to Houston and Olive Poff in Lindsey Hill, Stone County, Arkansas. Clovis grew up in a loving home with three brothers and three sisters. While attending Mountain View School, she met and later married her sweetheart, M. F. ''Buddy'' Hankwitz. They raised a beautiful, talented daughter, Carolyn.

Clovis had an endearing personality, and never met a stranger. She loved sewing, cooking, gardening, cross-stitching and Skip Bo. Many people were blessed by her personal gifts and service. Her family and friends were the great joys of her life. She and her family were members of the First United Methodist Church, where they attended and served for many years.

Clovis was preceded in death by her husband, M. F. ''Buddy'' Hankwitz; an infant son; daughter, Carolyn Joan Williams; a grandson, Guy Douglas McDonald; parents, Houston and Olive Poff; brothers, Bryce and Jack Poff; and a sister, Mavis Poff Kemp.
She is survived by her brother, Herbert (wife Maxine) Poff, Betty (Poff) Cartwright, and Iva Nell (Poff) and husband, Junior Risner; along with more loving family and friends than can be listed.

Clovis loved family reunions. Those of us who loved her will miss her, but we rejoice in her greatest reunion of all.

Visitation will be Monday, May 12, 2014, 6:00 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel with Lay Speaker, Larry Poff, officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Springs New Cemetery located at Holly Springs, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Cartwright, Gerald Ivy, Gary Poff, Jim Poff, Ricky Billings, and Kenny Kemp; Graveside Pallbearers will be Freddie Jo Johnson, Eddie McDonald, Ronnie Ramsey, Rodney Sorrells, Chad Sorrells and Mark Sorrells; and Honorary Pallbearers will be Winfred Sorrells, LaFayette Sorrells, Wimpy Pennington, Dr. Ron Simpson, Bill Avey and Doyle Cates.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your dear loved one. Take comfort in knowing that our Heavenly Creator understands your pain. He will soon remove all pain, sorrow, and death forever! (Rev 21:3,4) May this promise be of comfort to you as you gain the strength and inner peace to cope with the times ahead (Philippians 4:13).

Our hearts go out to all the family. We've known most of this family for many years and pains us when anyone of them are hurting though Clovis is no longer hurting and we feel strongly that she is with God now.
