Olen Clarence Wilson, 95, of Timbo, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his home. Olen was born on November 13, 1922 in Onia, Arkansas to the late Cranford and Dora (Tilley) Wilson. Olen earned a degree in agriculture from the University of Arkansas in 1951 and settled in Timbo where he purchased a 100 acre farm and built the first Gold Medallion home in Stone County. Olen retired after teaching agriculture for 35 years, 31 of those years at Timbo High School. Olen was Timbo's first agri teacher and he started the Timbo FFA Chapter. Olen was a deacon for many years at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church; he served as president of West Stone County Water Association for 13 years during its planning stages. Olen was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in World War II; he also taught veterans about farming in Batesville, Arkansas. Olen and his family were selected as the 2018 Stone County Farm Family. Olen spent a lifetime developing and building his farm and cattle operation while also helping many others throughout the years do the same.
Olen is survived by his wife of 71 years, Elma Bonnie (Fletcher) Wilson; one son, Jerry Lee Wilson and wife Tammy; daughters, Joanie Loreva Cromwell and husband Jason and Janet Louise Eunson and husband Robert; two brothers, JC Wilson and Una Wilson; sisters, Florene Morrison and Imogene Williams; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; along with many extended family and friends.
Olen was preceded in death by his parents, Cranford and Dora (Tilley) Wilson; brother, Arvil Wilson; sisters, Verda Gammill and Irene Hazen, and two infant sisters.
Visitation is Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Onia, Arkansas with Brothers Gary Don Fletcher and David Fletcher officiating. Interment will be at Pordue Cemetery in Onia, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Phil Sutton, Daniel Honeycutt, Jim Bullard, Larry James Gammill, Junior Barham, and Eddie Cowell. Honorary pallbearers are all former students.
Roller Coffman Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

Sorry to hear about Mr. Wilson's passing. I always had the utmost respect for him and loved being his student and spending time with him at the sale barn. He will be missed by many.
