September 19, 1935 - March 16, 2017

Mavis E. Bonds Farris, age 81, passed away on March 16, 2017. Mavis was born on Meadowcreek (Stone County) to the late Earl and Omalee Bonds on September 19, 1935. She and her late husband, D.A. Farris, lived a large part of their lives in Little Rock, Arkansas, where Mavis was a licensed beautician. Upon her retirement, she and D.A. split time between their homes in Little Rock and Timbo. Mavis is preceded in death by her parents, twin sisters, Bonnie Bridgeman and Donnie Wrinkle, and baby brother, Reece Bonds. Her husband, D.A. Farris, also, preceded her in death.

She is survived by an older brother, Corbit (Judy) Bonds and younger brother, Bill (Dayle) Bonds, and only son, Randy (Christal) Farris, and her two grandsons, Aaron Farris and Ethan Farris. There are a host of nieces and nephews who also survive.

I loved your mother and Daddy very much. They were very, very good to me. I am very sad that I could not come to the funeral but I found out the day before and could not get away from work. I pray for you and your family, Randy. She was a great and wonderful lady. I can still remember her teaching me how to make plum jelly like it was yesterday!!! I was so happy and fortunate that I was able to go back and visit her and your Dad in 2006. May the peace of Jesus be with you all.

Corbit -

I was saddened to read Mavis' name in the obituaries. You have many fond memories of her as I remember years ago how her name always brought a smile to your face! May those treasured memories comfort you during this difficult time.

With much affection,
Gayla

My deepest sympathy to the family during this time.
Mavis was a great friend to my mom, Betty Henderson. They worked together many years and had many great adventures!
They were a pair, I'm sure that are reunited in Heaven today, dancing with the angels!
