Roger Dean Wilson, age 68, of Mountain View, Arkansas died on Sunday, August 9, 2015.
Roger was born in Mountain View, Arkansas on December 14, 1946 to Stanley Earl and Aralyn Deloris ''Aralois'' (Hicklin) Wilson. Roger entered into the army where he served in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife Donna Joyce (Gullett) Wilson who he married on June 30, 1972, one son, Jeremy Reade Wilson, of Dallas Texas, one daughter, Lindsay Hope Wilson-Galloway from Mountain View, Arkansas and five grandchildren: Isaac Galloway, Preslee Galloway, and Markus Galloway, all of Mountain View and Elle Wilson and Olivia Wilson, both of Dallas Texas. He is also survived by his brother Jack Wilson and wife, Ann of Sherwood, his sister Earlynn Welsh of Little Rock, his sister Aleta Long and husband, Jim of Mountain View, his sister Doris Fountain and husband, Roger of Pineville, sister Diane Osburn and husband, Gary of Mountain View, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousin, and friends. Roger was preceded in death his parents and one brother, James Randall Wilson.
Prior to his first stroke in 2000, Roger was a bail bondsman for Stone and Van Buren Counties and an avid hunter. He also loved riding his rhino, watching westerns, and watching the Razorbacks play. Prior to that, he worked in law enforcement and real estate. Roger enjoyed spending time with his family and going to family reunions and functions.
Funeral services took place Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Fox Cemetery with Brother Shaye Fountain officiating. Burial was under the direction of Roller Coffman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Frank Welsh, Brett Long, Brian Long, Rick Fountain, Chancey Osburn, and Devin Osburn. Honorary pallbearers were Dusty Osburn, Chuck Hastings, and Todd Hudspeth.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family asks that you instead send donations to Centennial Bank, Memorial Fund for Roger D Wilson so that his grandchildren will have college funds started. He loved his grandchildren so much and wanted them all to reach their academic potential.
Jack, Frank and family - I am so sorry for your loss of Roger. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep the memories and your loved ones close.
