Shaley Kaye Hertter, age 40 passed away on August 2nd, 2018 at her home in Marshall, Arkansas. Her faith was strong as was her relationship with the Lord and we have no doubt her final destination lies in Heaven. Shaley was born in Eureka, Kansas on February 12th, 1978 to parents, Clarence V. McDonald of Climax, Kansas and Sharon Maye King of Marshall, Arkansas, both preceded her in death. Shaley was one of five children. An infant sister, Sherry Lynn McDonald also preceded her in death.
Shaley is survived by her step-father, Harrol King of Marshall; grandmother, Edna Maye Bratton of Marshall; her husband, Robert Lee Hertter of Marshall; three children, Shakoda Lane, age 17, Rylee McKenna Shay, age 13 and Parker Logan Pete, age 5; two step-children, Anastasia Rose, age 26 of Wichita, KS and Kendra Jean, age 25, also of Wichita, KS; three brothers, Rodney Rogers of Marshall, Clinton V. McDonald and Joe Lee McDonald, both of Climax, KS; three sisters-in-law, Cathie McDonald, Deanna McDonald and Stacie Pearse; brother-in-law, Rick Pearse; mother-in-law, Linda Hertter of Marshall; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and so many amazing friends and colleagues spread out over the Kansas and Arkansas areas.
Shaley was an accomplished woman, as you should all know. She attended elementary and middle School in Eureka, Kansas, before moving with her mother to Arkansas in 1992. She graduated with honors from Marshall High School. She then furthered her education at The College of the Ozarks, North Arkansas College, and then graduated from John Brown University with a Bachelors Degree. After working at Windstream for 10 years, she attended Harding University and thereafter, obtained her Master's Degree in School Administration from the University of Central Arkansas. She taught at Marshall Elementary School for 10 years, where she taught grades kindergarten through fourth. She was involved with several clubs and activities including: Searcy County 4-H, Marshall Master Archers, the Lady Bobcats Volleyball, Basketball team, Track team, The Searcy County Fairboard, and several competitive clogging teams. Anything her three children were involved in, she dove in wholeheartedly to support them.
Funeral services for Shaley will be 10:00 AM Monday, August 6th, 2018 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Jason Horton officiating and her daughter, Shakoda Hertter will read a personal eulogy. Visitation will be 2:00 till 4:00 PM Sunday, August 5th, 2018 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Harness Cemetery in the Flag community of Stone County, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Joe McDonald, Mason McDonald, Thomas Rogers, Rod Rogers, Ronnie Warren and Clint McDonald. Praying God wraps his loving arms around each of you as you travel through this journey. Some things we dont understand but God needed Shaley earlier than we anticipated. May you find comfort in the arms of God.
Shaley was a wonderful coach and person. She will be missed by so many. She will be watching down from Heaven to watch over her family.
Such a bright life that is gone too soon. I know that she will leave a huge hole in the lives of the youth and adults of Marshall. Shaley was a friend and I will miss her dearly.
It is so hard to express the sadness we have. Shaley was a favorite client of ours and an exceptional young woman. She had such a positive influence on the lives of so many families in our county. We extend our deepest sympathy to her family.
Well the LORD has gained another sweet angel. This is so hard to believe about Shaley. It breaks my heart for her family. I pray that the good Lord will shine upon each and every one that's affected by her death. May Shaley rest in peace with her lord. May God Bless You ALL. Remember to always look up cause she's looking down on all of us here.
