Ardith Hobert Smith, age 82 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 at Highland Court Nursing Home in Marshall, Arkansas. He was born in Dongola, Arkansas on April 12th, 1936 to Buell R. Smith and Vada Switzer Smith.

Ardith drove a truck for Searcy County Livestock and Auction for many years, hauling livestock across the country before he retired to his farm to be a full time rancher. He was a big supporter of the Charolais cattle breed and was always willing to express his opinion that they were the best. He had a huge personality and was often the center of attention at any gathering. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand to help others. Ardith was a member of the Searcy County Cattleman's Association and served as a past president. He was a board member of the Searcy County Farm Bureau and a member of Marshall Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joann Smith of the home; four sons, Phillip Smith and wife Terry of Fayetteville, Jeff Smith and wife Laura of Cecil, Steve Smith and wife Paula of Marshall and Brock Smith, also of Marshall; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel Smith, Joshua Smith, Colby Smith, Dakota Smith, Casey Whittaker, Ally Smith and Ashlynn Smith; four great-grandchildren, Graham, Grace, Griffin and Presley Kay; one brother, Elton Smith of Marshall; and a host of other relatives and friends who will mourn his passing. Ardith is preceded in death by his parents, Buell and Vada; and one brother, John Dale Smith.

Funeral services for Ardith will be 2:00 PM Friday, May 11th, 2018 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. John Myatt officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Thursday, May 10th, 2018 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Dongola Cemetery near Marshall. Pallbearers will be his grandson's, Nathaniel Smith, Joshua Smith, Colby Smith, grandson-in-law, Erik Whittaker and nephews, Nick Smith, James Smith, Jerry Dale Smith and David Massey.
