Elizabeth Ehlers Cotton, age 92 of Marshall, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5th, 2018 at Highland Court in Marshall. She was born in Comfort, Texas on September 3rd, 1925 to Kurt Ehlers and Louise Bermann Ehlers.

Elizabeth was the oldest of four children. She graduated from Center Point High School in Comfort, Texas in 1943 and then went to work for the Federal government at the military hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She met her future husband, Clifford Cotton, while working at the military facility through her roommate, Juanita (Mrs. Leonard) Jennings of Leslie, Arkansas. Elizabeth and Clifford married on June 14th, 1945 and moved to Leslie shortly after Clifford was discharged from service. They were married for 61 years before Clifford's death in 2006. Elizabeth and Clifford had two children, Jeffrey and Debra. Clifford worked as a builder and farmer in the Searcy County area while Elizabeth was a homemaker and farmed alongside Clifford. She later went to work for the Leslie State Bank in 1967 and worked there for 20 years until her retirement.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, son, Jeffrey Cotton and wife Treeca of Little Rock and daughter, Debra Davis of Conway; four grandchildren who Elizabeth was very proud of, Lt. Col. Mark Cotton and wife Wendy of Newburg, NY, Commander Brent Cotton and wife Jeanne of Woodbridge, VA, Melissa Marshall and husband Josh of Harrison and Josh Stevens and wife Alexandra of Conway; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella Ehlers Hamlyn of Comfort, TX and Jean Ehlers Kunz and husband Sid of Kerrville, TX; and many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford; and one brother, Ruben Ehlers and wife Ida of Comfort, TX.

Funeral services for Elizabeth will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 13th, 2018 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Jeffery Cotton, Treeca Cotton and Debra Davis officiating. Special music will be performed by Melissa Marshall. Interment will follow in Watts/Jennings Cemetery in the Baker Community.
