Larry ''Doc'' Dennis McDaniel, age 69 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, March 19th, 2018 at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway, Arkansas. He was born in Searcy County, Arkansas on October 29th, 1948 to Vester McDaniel and Joan Dwyer McDaniel.
Doc was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army where he served as a medic. He worked for many years in the construction industry as a dry waller. Doc liked gardening and restoring old vehicles. He enjoyed attending the Thola Homecoming or sitting at Harps, drinking coffee and visiting with friends and neighbors. Doc's greatest joy was his family and especially his grandsons. He was interested in anything they did and was always there cheering them on in all of their endeavors. He loved to watch them play baseball and never missed a game or practice. His strong presence will be missed by family and friends alike.
Survivors include one son, Jeff McDaniel and wife Angi of Conway; grandsons, Lucas McDaniel and Jackson McDaniel; one sister, Carol Goodson of TN; and many cousins, other family and friends who will also mourn his passing. Doc is preceded in death by his parents, Vester and Joan; three siblings, Gary Gene, Jimmy Ray and Barry Kent McDaniel; and many aunts, uncles and other family.
Graveside services for Doc will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 23rd, 2018 at Passmore/Thola Cemetery with Bro. Shane Horton officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas. Honorary pallbearers will be Lucas McDaniel, Jackson McDaniel, Kenny McDaniel, Brad McDaniel, Rodney McDaniel, Rex Griffin, Ronny Hiett, Gerald Preddy, Hog Thompson and Donnie Henderson. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 or DAV Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
Larry was a classmate of mine and will be greatly missed. Always a smile and kind word for everyone.

Jeff, Angi, Jackson & Lucas - Larry has left us too soon. I am so sorry. He was a great guy, always so comfortable to be around and easy to talk to. Larry had a kind and gentle spirit. I liked him so very much. I know you will miss him terribly. He's another one of God's angels now; watching out for all of you. . . for us, and he will forever be in our prayers.
