Jerry Alvin Jackson, age 72 of Harriet, Arkansas passed from this life on Thursday, August 17th, 2017 at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. Jerry was born in Harriet, Arkansas on November 24th, 1944 to William Rufus Jackson and Thelma Pemberton Jackson.
Jerry spent 30 plus years working at Marshall Milling Company. He made many friends throughout his years of working there. He enjoyed working on his farm and taking care of his cattle. In his younger days, Jerry was an avid coonhunter. He was a Freemason and belonged to Campbell Lodge #115. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include one son, Johnny Jackson and wife Tammy of Marshall; two daughters, Robin Wheeler and husband Perry of Marshall and Stephanie Reid and husband Aaron, also of Marshall; six grandchildren, Crystal, Tiffany, Chris and John Allen Jackson, Justin Wheeler and Lindsey Reid; several great-grandchildren; sister, Nadra Horton of St. Joe; brothers, Donnie Jackson of Bellefonte, Bud Jackson of Harriet and Danny Joe Jackson, also of Harriet; and many other family and friends who will also mourn his passing.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty years, Mary Jackson, who passed away in November of 2012; sisters, Barbara Yeager and Betty Chivington; and one brother, Dorsey Jackson.
Arrangements are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas. Graveside services for Jerry will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 20th, 2017 at Rock Creek Cemetery near Harriet, Arkansas with Bro. Donald Patterson officiating.
I worked with Jerry at Marshall Milling for about a year and I would like to say he was a wonderful person I know you're going to miss him that my prayers will be with you and your family .
It was such an honor to be your granddaughter. You are an amazing man who is going to be truly missed by so many .
