Johny Robert Ritter, age 82 of Harriet, Arkansas passed from this life on Sunday, September 4th, 2016 at his daughters home in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born on July 4th, 1934 in Jester, Oklahoma to Robert M. Ritter and Myrtle Bell (Combs) Ritter.

Johny served in the National Guard for a short time. He began his working career working at Goldstar Dairy and Creamery in Oklahoma. After moving to Arkansas he drove a cement truck for several years and retired from the Searcy County Road Department after 20 years of service. While still in Oklahoma he enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding horses. After moving to Arkansas Johny enjoyed riding the 4-wheeler around his farm and caring for his cows. He liked to go to Mountain View and listen to the good music and attend the dances. Johny also enjoyed eating out and going to auctions. He loved family get-togethers and spending time with his family.

Johny is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Evelyn (Hughes) Ritter, who passed away in 2002; and brothers, Bill, Lane and Floyd Ritter.

Survivors include five sons, Archie Ritter of Berryville, Bruce (Arlene) Ritter of Harriet, Robert (Vickey) Ritter of Berryville, Joe Ritter of Calico Rock and Jonathan (Delpha) Ritter of Batesville; one daughter, Melody Watts (Scott Treat) of Mountain Home; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Stacey of Berryville, JR Ritter of Berryville, David (Anna) Ritter of Harrison, Amanda (Ben) Hale of Berryville, Kendra (Travis) Watts of Rogers, Ashley (Gavin) Stutts of Mountain Home and Alexis Paige Watts of Searcy; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Effie (Tommy) Thompson of Mangum, OK; two brothers, Melvis (Velma) Ritter of Mangum, OK and Skipper (Peggy) Ritter, also of Mangum, OK; his companion of thirteen years, Mae Vickers; and many other caregivers, friends and family who will also mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Johny will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 8th, 2016 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Darryl Treat officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 7th, 2016 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Treat Cemetery near Big Flat. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Stacey, Gavin Stutts, JR Ritter, David Ritter, Ben Hale and Travis Fox. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Henry.

Truly, one of the most kind hearted and loving man I've met. He was, by far, my favorite (oldest) uncle! You will be missed, but never forgotten! Hope you, Bill, Lane, my dad, and of course Evelyn are catching up and laughing at all of us! All my love!
