Elizabeth Parry

of Columbia, MO

January 31, 2015

Elizabeth Ann (Mills) Parry, age 69, of Columbia, Missouri, died January 31, 2015, surrounded by family. She was born November 30, 1945 to the late Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Mills of Marshall, Arkansas. A 1963 graduate of Marshall Arkansas High School, she took up business training at Arkansas Polytechnic College in Russellville, Arkansas. Liz lived most of her adult life in Little Rock, but moved to Columbia, Missouri in 2014 to be closer to the excellent medical care available there for treatment of the very rare disease she suffered this past four-and-a-half years.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Dr. K. A. Parry, daughter Shelly Glenn (Brian) of Cabot, son K. Alan Parry, Jr. (Mary) of Chapel Hill, NC, and her five grandchildren Taylor and Collin Stauffer, and Nathan, Emma and Ben Parry, her brother Jim Mills (Marian) of Searcy and her nieces Sara Landis of Fayetteville and Sharon Yetter (Rob) of Denver, CO. Liz enjoyed many wonderful memories with her extended family in Missouri and Arkansas as well.

Liz was a strong Christian and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker and a very successful office manager for several law firms and accounting offices, as well as other jobs over the years. She belonged to the Little Rock Duplicate Bridge Club, participating in national bridge tournaments and earning the level of Bronze Life Master. She was a member of First Christian Church in Marshall, AR and Little Rock, AR. She helped design, implement and lead the First Christian Church Food Pantry for over thirteen years. Liz will be missed by all, but her family and friends are very proud of her long and courageous battle with this rare disease.

Arrangements are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas. Funeral services for Elizabeth will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 07, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Marshall, Arkansas with Brother Hart Moore officiating. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

At the family's request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to one of the afore mentioned church programs or to Harmony Hills Youth Camp, 8033 State Rd O, Fulton, MO 65251 or Coyote Hill Christian Children's Home, PO Box 1, Harrisburg, MO 65256-0001.

So sorry for your loss. I have sweet memories of being in high school with Elizabeth and on the cheerleader squad with her. She was a genuinely good person who was kind to everyone.

Chief, I am so sorry to hear of Elizabeth's passing. I have thought of you both so often since you moved. I know your heart is heavy with grief and I am so saddened with your loss. She fought such a battle with her disease, but know she is in pain no more. Please know that I am with you in spirit through this difficult time. I hope to see you sometime soon. My deepest sympathies to your family. My family lived across the street from the Mills in Park Hill back in the '50s and early '60s and Elizabeth and I were friends. It was a wonderful time and place in which to grow up. Our paths crossed again when my son Robert Hough and Alan were classmates at Catholic High School. May the prayers of friends and family help sustain you.

Kirk,

I cannot adequately express the sorrow I feel for your family. Liz was always one of my favorite people. We didn't see each other often over the past few years, but we always caught up like it had just been weeks since our last visit. Oh, how she beamed talking about every member of your family. She loved her kids more than life itself, but when grand kids came along, I think the two originals moved to the back seat!

My heart aches for each of you, and I know you'll miss her tremendously. I always admired the love and respect you two had for each other.

Please know that Liz will always hold a special place in my heart. I was so lucky to call her my friend. May the good Lord hold each of you during this time. You'll always know she is smiling down on you as she's always done with such pride.

All my love,

Melanie Gibson

Kirk and Family,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I have wonderful memories of working alongside Liz to develop and implement the Food Pantry at FCC. It is fair to say that without Liz it would never have happened. Her energy, compassion and organizational skills were the perfect combination for such a big project. I am thankful for having known Liz, and you, too, Kirk. You both were a blessing in my life.

We are so sorry to hear of you loss! Liz was a vibrant person, who lived her Christianity well, and was an excellent disciple. She reminded us both of the quote from Proverbs 31, 10: "Who can find a wife of noble character? For her value is far more than rubies." The world has lost another precious gem, but may she rest in eternal peace! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Our deepest condolences to Liz's family. She was a wonderful lady who always had a smile on her face. A magnificent sense of humor, and lots of patience. I never knew anyone who did not like Liz. She will be missed. Louann and I will be with you in spirit during this difficult adjustment. Please let us know how we may assist in anyway.

Kirk and Family,

We all feel the pain of your loss. Elizabeth Ann was a wonderful person from a wonderful family. She was fortunate too in that she married this lanky foreigner who too became family. i am so happy to be able to call her my friend. I will cherish the good memories as will you even though your hearts are heavy at this time.

Our love to all of you,
