William "Bill" Henry Waitley, age 74 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, August 05, 2013 at St. Vincents Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on September 05, 1938 in Kansas City, Kansas to Martin Thomas Waitley Sr. and Ruth Marguerite (Neighbors) Waitley.
Bill attended the Lord's House of Prayer and the Searcy County Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a foundry worker for the railroad industry. In his younger days he liked pheasant hunting and racing go-carts. Bill and his wife, Nancy spent one year living and working in Jamaica and Bill enjoyed his time spent there. He enjoyed nature and spending time outdoors on the farm. He and Nancy loved to sit on the back porch and watch the birds and wildlife. Carpentry was Bill's passion. He loved to build things and found peace and solace in working with his hands. He loved his grandson very much and enjoyed time spent with him. Bill was a quiet and gentle man whose kindness will be missed by all who knew him.
His parents; one son, Roger Waitley; and two sisters, Carolyn Mestagh and Dixie Walker, precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Nancy (Branscum) Waitley; two daughters, Lisa Johnson and husband Richard of Pea Ridge and Becky Watts and husband Gary of Bonaire, GA; his beloved grandson, Sam Watts; one sister, Patsy Waitley of Columbus, KS; two brothers, Thomas Waitley Jr. of Ozawkie, KS and Donald Waitley of Columbus, KS; and a host of nieces and nephews who will also mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Bill will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 08, 2013 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Allen Brock officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour preceding the service from 10:00 till 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Phil Reade, Gary Watts, Richard Johnson, Ray Barnes, Donnie Henderson and Andy Granado. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Watts, Thomas Waitley, George Mestagh, Tim Massey, Buddy Parks and Rob Woods.
Nancy & girls we were saddened when we heard about Bills passing. So sorry and may God comfort you'all & Bless you also.
