Alice Ann Mullenax

of Little Rock, AR

July 9, 1936 - June 22, 2018

Alice Ann Mullenax, 81, of Little Rock, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 22, 2018, with her children by her side. She was born the daughter of Charles W. and Alice Price on July 9, 1936, in El Dorado, AR. She was a 1954 graduate of Fuller High School and a charter member of Archview Baptist Church in Little Rock.

Alice Ann had a sweet and welcoming spirit and a kind smile and word for everyone. She was a loving homemaker for her family and a devoted wife of 42 years to her husband, James. She enjoyed cooking, taking vacations, taking care of others, and took great pleasure in having company drop by her home so she could spoil and entertain them during their visit. She loved and served her Lord at Archview in countless ways, always pointing others to Jesus by singing specials, teaching Sunday school classes, actively supported all church activities and fellowships. Her greatest contribution was playing the piano and organ for her church. Archview even proclaimed an ''Alice Ann Mullenax Day'' in recognition and appreciation of her 50 plus years of faithful music ministry.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James L. Mullenax and her parents.
She is survived by a son, James Luther ''Jim'' Mullenax (Tammy); a daughter Kristen Stinnett (Kevin); two grandchildren: Kayla and Kurt Stinnett; a host of friends and a large extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 26, at Archview Baptist Church, 12610 Arch Street, Little Rock, AR., 72206. Burial to follow at Ivy Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M., Monday, June 25, at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Chapel, 10900 I 30, Little Rock, AR 72209. Memorials may be made to Archview Baptist Church.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".

Though it has been years since I have attended Archview I have never forgotten Alice Ann. I will always remember her beautiful soprano voice joining in during the hymns. I'll also never forget hanging out the window of her car with a couple of other kids as we drove around Landmark community "announcing" an upcoming vacation Bible school. I will miss her very much. The prayers of my wife and I for your family during this sad time.

A dear, dear lady who will always be special in our hearts. It was this sweet lady who taught me to love the hymns. She made the music in the auditorium absolutely come alive as she did beautiful things on that little old organ we started out with. When we finally got a new organ, she treated it like it was the one in the Brooklyn Tabernacle. She loved that organ and she loved her kids. Oh, yes, she loved Jim and Kristy but she loved every kid who ever went through the children's choir and we all loved her. That's why when Verna and I got married, even though I was a music major and every organ player at Ouachita volunteered to play for us, Alice Ann was the only person we wanted.

I taught James and Kristy at Landmark Elementary. Met with Mrs. Mullenax through school. Was a sweet lady. (I may have been Phyllis Fullington at that time.)
