Billy Alton LoveI am a Veteran.

of Mabelvale, AR

November 9, 1933 - June 22, 2017

Billy ''Bill'' Alton Love, 83, of Mabelvale went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 22, 2017. He was at home surrounded by family who loved him dearly as he stepped into Heaven.

He was born November 9, 1933 in Greenbrier, Arkansas to the late Mavis Johnson and Thomas Love. His brother, Bobby, and sister, Tommy Dale, also preceded Bill in death.

He enjoyed reading westerns and listening to old country music. He went to flea markets as often as he could get there, and spent many hours playing cards with his friends-like-family, Robert and Susie. He served two years in the Navy.

He loved spending time with his family more than just about anything else. Bill loved holidays and any reason to get together with all the family there. When one of his daughters asked him how he wanted to be remembered, he replied without hesitation, ''That I loved ALL my kids.'' He wanted everyone to know he did not consider some to be ''step'' and others ''real,'' but he counted them all as HIS. His children said he was supportive of whatever they did and described him as their rock and foundation for life. He served as a good example for living life with the fruits of the Spirit - kindness, love, and gentleness, especially.

Those attending to his needs at CARTI as he faced cancer treatment said he had the ''sweetest and gentlest spirit'' even in the midst of that struggle. The family members remaining said they want to carry that forward and hope to live with even half of the goodness of their Daddy.

He has many who will miss him terribly. Bill married his high school sweetheart at a young age. Barbara Baker and he married after graduating from North Little Rock High School and had children, Tom Love (Gwen) and Holly Turner (Jim), together. He later married Caroline Krumpholz, and Mike Love, Doris Morris (Gary), and Valerie Wheeler (Marvin) were born. Geraldine Lewis became Bill's wife and added Randy Benson (Debbie), Anna Ball, Tina Wilson, and Lisa Attora (John) to the family. Fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren have since joined the group! His sister, Dorothy Biggs; his ''special'' sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Robert St. John; and his 17 year old shiatsu dog friend, Courtney, also will miss him.

The family would like to extend appreciation to the Arkansas Hospice staff. David, Aretha, and Vicky were especially dear in their care of Dad. Instead of sending flowers to the service, please consider making a donation to Arkansas Hospice,14 Parkstone Circle,
North Little Rock, AR 72116.

A big thank you goes out to Saline County Deputy Sheriff Mac who was kind and understanding when he came to the house right after Bill passed.

We will celebrate dad's life at a memorial service at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209, (501)455-5800.
