Charles Robert Phillips passed away November 2, 2016 at Briarwood Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born October 14, 1934 in Ringwood, OK to Vernie Mae and Robert Phillips.
Charles grew up in Enid, OK and graduated from Enid High School and Oklahoma State University where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Later he received another degree from UALR. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from UAMS Controllers Office. He will be remembered for his dry wit and corny jokes.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jean Attwood Phillips; children: Pamela Campbell (Kirk) of Cary, NC, Patrick Phillips (Leigh) of Little Rock; stepchildren: Melissa Haywood (Terry) of Rison, Thomas Pearson and Janey Pettit of Little Rock; 3 grandchildren: Kelsey, Molly, Jordan; 4 step-grandchildren: Leigh (Matt), Kyle, Julia, Jill; and his sister, Verda Jean Schrall of Oklahoma.
Preceding him in death were three brothers and three sisters.
