I served in the Air Force.
Paul K. HabenichtI am a Veteran.

of Little Rock, AR

October 20, 1927 - October 31, 2016

Paul Habenicht, 89, of Little Rock, AR passed away after his battle with cancer on October 31, 2016. Paul was born to Roy and Lillie (Lee) Habenicht on October 20, 1927 in Hamden, MO.
Shortly after graduating from Bynumville High School in Missouri, Paul's family moved to Little Rock, AR where he attended Little Rock Junior College. Paul served in the Army Signal Corps and Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. After service to his country, Paul returned to Little Rock where he caught the eye of a sweet gal from south Arkansas, Margaret Knighton, when they were attending the same Sunday School class at Calvary Baptist Church. They married in 1952 and the adventure began as they moved and traveled across the United States starting in Mission, Kansas where Mark and Steve (Doug) were born. They also lived in Garland, TX, Lombard, IL, Seneca Falls, NY, and El Paso, TX until they settled back in Little Rock, AR in the early 70s.
The skills Paul gained as a Sergeant in the Army Signal Corps and Air Force resulted in job opportunities for him in the ever-changing telecommunications industry. During this time, Paul earned his pilot's license, and flew for work, fun, and few family vacations. Paul later used his telecommunications skills and experience to become one of the first cable TV providers and satellite TV dealers in Little Rock by starting his own business, Antennavision.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Knighton Habenicht; two sons, Mark of Atkinson, NH, Steven Douglas (wife Stephanie) of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren Ashley and David Habenicht of Atkinson, NH, Conor Habenicht of Fayetteville, AR, and Seth Habenicht of Little Rock, AR.; many relatives including a slew of in-laws, tons of nieces and nephews, and friends that were considered family, like his VFW poker buddies and neighbors.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lillie (Lee) Habenicht.
Pallbearers are Conor Habenicht, Seth Habenicht, J.N. Schee, Leaon King, Red Lewis, and Mike Akel.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ken Howard, Ray Knighton, Loyce Knighton, Gary Lee, and friends from VFW Post 9095.
Memorials can be made to the VFW Post 9095, 1121 Gamble Road, Little Rock, AR 72211 .
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, AR.

Steve and Mark and family, My heart goes out to you all. Your father was a very sweet man. I sure will miss our talks, and will miss playing poker with him. May God wrap his arms around you and comfort you all during this most difficult time. If I can do anything, please let me know. Elizabeth
