April 4, 1932 - March 6, 2016
Hubert Gorden Gregson, born 4 April 1932, left the bond of this physical world to join our Lord Jesus Christ 6 March 2016. He was a patriot, soldier, greens keeper, welder, fisherman, hunter, golfer, brother, son, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In the worst of times he had seen the face of the North Korean and Chinese soldier in hand to hand combat but now he sees the face of God.
Gorden, as he was known to everyone, hated the name Hubert. For that very reason Gorden Michael's mother Emma would ensure Hubert was printed on every checkbook.
Gorden had a fun active life coming up through school at Annie Camp Junior High School and Jonesboro High School where he played football. While in the Arkansas National Guard his was federalized and assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division and participated in the Korean War. As an infantryman he was at the Battle of Chosan when the Chinese entered the fight. After recovering from wounds he served the rest of his time as military policeman. Gorden was honorably discharged with, among other awards, the Purple Heart and 3 Bronze Stars. While living in California he was the commander of the American Legion Post.
He was a greens keeper for much of his life at a number of golf courses around central Arkansas and served as President of the Golf Course Superintendent's Association of Arkansas. He also loved working with his co-workers at Wal-Mart.
Gorden is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Alice Gregson, brothers Frank Jr, Clifford, Franklin and Gerald Gene ''Pete'', wives Emma Nell, Jo Ann, Pattsie, Gladys Gail and stepdaughter Mary Jackson.
Survivors include sisters Ollie Douglas, Thelma Meharg, Ruth Ann Coleman, brothers Tommy Gregson and Bill Gregson, sons Gorden Michael and Timothy Phillip, step-daughters Rhonda Wells, Marsha Gregson Stefka, Le Ann Johnson and step-son Howard Werqueyah and countless grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, AR 72209, (501) 455-5800.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander.

I am sadden by the passing of a very old friend. He was one of the sweetest persons I have known. I have great memories of him and his sweet wife , also has gone to heaven. Lots of prayers to his family.
Thinking of the entire Gregson family during this time of loss. Our thoughts are with you all . Gorden will be missed by many.
Although I have not known Gordon for a long time I consider him a good friend. We had a few mutual friends and that always led to some good natured kidding when we would see each other at Wal Mart.I am so sorry to hear that Gordon has passed a way.He will certainly be missed.
So very sorry for your loss. Praying Gods peace and comfort to surround your hearts and the hearts of all who loved your Dad.
Gorden, I'm so sorry for your loss. My prayers go out to you and your family.
Sending our condolences to all the family. We loved our dear sweet Uncle Gorden. Though we may be far away, he is close to our hearts. Wish we could be there for family, but know you are in our thoughts and prayers. May God be the glory.
Gorden and family, my deepest sympathy. I know this is a tremendous loss and your Blue Cross family will do all that we can to help you through this.
Lei GH Ann and Gordon Michael and other family members. I know Gordon is in a better place now singing with the angles and helping WalMart . He called us a few weeks ago so we got to have a nice talk with him.
My prayers are for each member of Bro. Gordon's family. I loved Bro. Gordon. He was special and I so enjoyed being around him. He will be missed at church but we all know his beautiful voice is singing praises in heaven.
Such a sweet man. Will be missed.
