Sidney M. Cantrell, age 85 of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Monday, October 8, 2018. Sidney was born November 13, 1932 in Wiseman, Arkansas to Joseph Drewey and Ora Mae (Anderson) Cantrell.
Sidney was very proud of his time spent serving his country, as a United States Marine in the Korean War. He owned and operated Otasco, which was later named Sid's Bike and Mower on the square. Sid could fix anything from a bicycle to a tractor. He enjoyed building things and wood working. Sidney was a man of many talents and a jack of all trades. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Sidney is survived by his son, Michael Cantrell and wife Patricia of Mountain Home; three daughters: Theresa Stanley and husband Larry of Mountain Home; Jessie Douglas and husband Darrell of Mountain Home, and Pat Rowland and husband Kirby of Maumelle; eight grandchildren: Heath Stanley, Brooke (Kenneth) Carter, Chad (Courtney) Cantrell, Cory (Jennie) Cantrell, Cody (Carly) Douglas, Callie Douglas, Tricia (Tony) Justice and Tiffany (Jason) Morris; 12 great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ora; wives: Bonnie Cantrell and Mary Cantrell; one daughter, Cindy Shaw; three brothers: Dale Stewart, Drewey Cantrell, and J.D. Cantrell and one sister, Tracy Thornley.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Roller Funeral Home with Leo Fortenberry officiating. Interment to immediately follow at Baxter Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Ozarks, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, Ar. 72653.

I remember the store on the square, we moved to Mountain Home in 1974 and what a neat store, so many things. Sid was the best at fixing bikes. Great man who was and is very respected.

I remember growing up in church and he would ALWAYS have a smile on his face. Always made people feel good that saw him cause you knew that's just how he was.

Mike and Teresa, I was so sad to hear about Sid's passing. I won't be able to attend the service but please know ya'll have been in my thoughts and prayers. When ever I think of him the thought "he was quite a character" comes to mind.
