Beulah "Fay" Campbell, affectionately known as Bamma, was born October 19, 1922 in Charleston South Carolina to Anna Jane (Walker) Anderson and Thomas Anderson.
She passed away December 16, 2017 in Calico Rock Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather John Wharton, her husband Gordon James Campbell and her brother Robert Eugene Anderson.
Bamma is survived by her Daughter Sharon (Campbell) Tinin of Rodney Arkansas, Special family friend Danette "Dani" (William) Alexander of Louisiana.
Sisters in law Patricia Anderson and Eunice Wainscott.
Grandsons Patrick (Priscilla) Campbell of Gassville Arkansas, Christopher (Leesa (Harrington) Coleman) Benge of Rodney Arkansas and Jeremy (Courtney) Campbell of Jordan Arkansas.
Great grandchildren Rashan, Alyssa and Emma Campbell, Joslyn, Alyssa, Hunter, Eli and Kaylea Coleman, and Carter, Jaxon and Jace Campbell.
Great grandson Leon Campbell.
Nephew Thomas Anderson.
Along with several other family members and friends.
Bamma moved to Jonesboro Arkansas at an early age from South Carolina.
After graduating high school in Jonesboro, she moved to New Orleans Louisiana, she was a "Rosie the Riveter", welding in the shipyard during the war.
She married Gordon James Campbell and after he left the service, having served as a medic during the Korean war, they lived in Battle Creek Michigan where he served as a medic at an army rehab. center.
They moved to Seaside California, where he worked for the U.S. Post Office and she for the Civil Service at Fort Ord California. Retiring after many years from the library system.
Bamma returned to Jonesboro Arkansas in 1981 after the death of her husband, to care for her mother.
She then moved to Norfork Arkansas where she was an active volunteer for many, many years.
She was the library person at the Baxter County Library Bookmobile, until it closed.
She volunteered at the Norfork Community Care Program, from its inception.
She helped with the Christmas Gifts for Kids program, which her daughter began, through the Foodbank of North Central Arkansas, the Community Care Program and McDonalds of Mountain Home.
She volunteered at the Food Room in Calico Rock several years.
Bamma served on the Women's Auxiliary of the Norfork Volunteer Fire Department.
She was instrumental in helping establish Norforks Backpack Program through the Norfork United Methodist Church and the Foodbank of North Central Arkansas, filling food bags for area schoolchildren up until 3 years ago.
There will be a memorial service honoring her many years December 31, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the Rodney Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Rodney, Arkansas, a buffet will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Backpack Program at the Foodbank of North Central Arkansas.
