Thomas K. (Shorty) Trett was born the son of D.T. and Iola Dixon Trett on November 27, 1934 on his parent's family farm near Moody, Missouri He left this world at home on his part of that same farm that he loved on August 17, 2016. His age was 81 years and 9 months. Thomas graduated from Viola High School in 1952. Always being a hard worker, he then left to pursue a career he would also love in construction. For many years he traveled all over the United States to wherever work took him. He later moved to the farm near Moody to work and raise his family in the area he always considered home. In 1955 while working in Wichita, Kansas he met and married Norma Jean McGann and to this union 5 children were born. He leaves to mourn, his wife Norma of the home in Viola, daughter Venita Ninemire (Marty) of Salem, AR, daughter Debra Fountain of Mountain Home, daughter Tammy Newton (Kelly) of Midway, Arkansas and son Darin Trett of the home in Viola; 11 grandchildren: Brooke Ninemire Faulkenberry (Rob) of Salem, AR, Billy Ninemire of Batesville, AR, Brody Ninemire of Salem, AR, Brandi Conner of Bexar, AR, Jamie Fountain Manes (Bryan) of Mountain Home, AR, Michael Trett (Jennifer) of Denver, CO, Dustin Trett of Seattle, WA, Megan Trett of Little Rock, AR, Logan Trett of Little Rock, AR, Lindsey Newton of Viola, AR, Ashley Newton of Viola, AR and 9 great grandchildren: Taylor Faulkenberry, Riley Jo Conner, Dylan Conner, Madison Manes, Brett Manes, Alexander Trett, Trinity Trett, Candice Trett, Nathan Trett, many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, D. T. and Iola Dixon Trett, sister, Onita Trett, 2 brothers, Lynn and Kenneth Trett, son Rocky Trett and great grandson John Carter Morris. Thomas loved his farm, his animals, his work, his friends and his family. He loved to laugh. He often had a joke to share. He had many life long friends and family who he loved to spend time with. He passed peacefully at home. A Family Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at the
Center Grove Baptist Church in Moody, Missouri on Sunday, August 21.
Family Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Followed by a service at 2:00
p.m. Brother John Hodges will be officiating. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation or The
American Cancer Society.
