Robert Max TinkeyI am a Veteran.

of Lakeview, AR

November 10, 2015

Robert Max Tinkey, age 89, passed away November 10, 2015, at home in the log cabin where he had enjoyed living, after supervising its construction and having installed its facilities and having finished the interior himself. He was among the handiest of men, capably using the resources available to him to maintain a comfortable life. Outdoors was the environment he loved the most. He cut his own fire wood, wielding a chain saw with finesse; something he was still doing in the last year of his life. He kept a garden and canned its produce. He was passionate about hunting and fishing; good enough at the latter to have once won a bass boat and good enough at the former, in the years of raising a family, to have provided all the meat required. He was a competitive archer. Along with his first wife, Mary, he participated in and won on many occasions archery tournaments. For two years he served as the President of the Indiana Archery Association. During his years of active employment, he worked his way from setting poles for telephone communications to the position of management in that field. He possessed a true love for life and participated fully in pursuit of all the good in which he could engage.
Robert is survived by his beloved family; daughters: Cynthia Tillerson, Peggy Tinkey, and Sue (Troy Tillerson) Tinkey, son: Robert (Tracy) Tinkey, granddaughters: Renae (Nathaniel) Whinery, Teresa (Pierre) Ste. Marie, Megan Tinkey, and Amy (Paul) Chhabra, grandson, Brian Holden, and great-grandchildren, Max Chhabra, Luke Chhabra, Holt Chhabra, Carol Anne Ste. Marie, Catherine Elizabeth Ste. Marie and Jacqueline Rose Ste. Marie. Also, he is survived by his step-children: Nancy Blalock, Sally Dowdie and Paul Blalock and his step-grandchildren: Steven, Spencer and Jake Blalock. He was preceded in death by his parents, both his spouses, Mary Catherine (McKrill) and Joan (Blalock) and his sister, Norma Jean Craft.
Memorial Services will be Monday, November 16 at 1:00 PM at Roller Funeral Home with Brother Marshall Lum officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Midway Baptist Church.

Grand Pa Max was a one of a kind. He lived full life the way he wanted to live. He never complaint about anything.
He had very strong family values.
He was a very wise man, he lived with in his means. He was always happy and thankful for what he had.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have found that the Bible provides comfort during difficult times. At 1 Corinthians 15:26 we are promised that very soon 'death will be brought to nothing'. Then, we have the prospect of being reunited with our loved right here on earth (John 5:28,29). I truly hope this has brought you comfort and hope. With deepest sympathies, Gracin and family.
