Sharon Lea Farris, age 82, of Gassville, Arkansas passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 in Gassville, Arkansas. She was born November 12, 1932 in Eros, Arkansas to Ott and Clarice (Stovall) Brown. She married Donald ''Don'' David Farris on February 19, 1953 in Harrison, Arkansas. They moved to Mountain Home in September 1957.

Together Sharon and Don opened the Carpet Center in Mountain Home in February 1960, where Sharon worked as the office manager/sales person, as well as being the mother of five children. Both were full time jobs. In 1965 they built a new store on Russell Street named Don's Carpet Center. Sharon saw Mountain Home go from a one bank town in 1960 to its present status.

Sharon was in the banking industry for many years. She worked in numerous Mountain Home banks until retiring in 1995. After retirement she served as Baxter County Deputy Treasurer for 10 years.

Sharon Farris is survived by her children; Ann (Price) Harned, David (Joanna) Farris, Danny Farris, Pat (Wendell) Sexton, and Nan (Gary) Quinney. Sharon's growing family tree includes 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, one sister; Beverly Fountain of Harrison, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be from 10 until service time at 12:00pm on Tuesday at Roller Funeral Home with the family sharing memories. Burial will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.

I am so sorry for your loss. I did not personally know Sharon well but Don a little more. Mainly I know how highly my parents, Neill and Evelyn Hudson, thought of them. I write this mostly in their stead. Don fished with Dad some and he dearly loved when Don would take him on one of those Crooked Creek smallmouth floats. I never got to get in on one of those but their stories, some possibly even true, made it sound like a page torn out of another time, when the Ozarks were still primitive and real.
