Eileen Marie Preston

of Mountain Home, AR

March 8, 2015

Eileen Marie Preston (nee Lawless), age 77, was born in Chicago on May 6, 1937 and died suddenly March 8th, 2015 at her home on Olympic Drive in Mountain Home AR. She was the beloved wife of the late Milton Preston; preceded in death by her parents John and Madeline (nee Goodwin), sister Kay (Bob) Wheeler, brother Ronald (Shirley) Lawless, and brother John (Cecilia) Lawless; loving sister of David Lawless; fond aunt, great-aunt and god-mother of many nieces, nephews, and god-children; life-long friend, and mother figure for many. Eileen was a generous woman who lovingly served her family, friends, churches, and communities throughout her entire life. As a child, Eileen entertained Chicago audiences by singing and playing accordion with her brother David. After graduating Calumet High School, she began a career as an administrative assistant at Standard Oil, and later at St Xavier University. Eileen married the love of her life, Milton Preston; when the time was right, they followed their dream to live in Hawaii, where they ran a highly successful real estate business and resort on the island of Maui for 28 years. Eileen retired to Mountain Home AR. Eileen had a big heart with many loves: family, friends, travel, music, Hawaii, Asian culture, art, furniture and antiquities. She had an eye for all things beautiful, and truly loved all kinds of people and different cultures. Her laugh was unforgettable; she was described by anyone who met her as "one of a kind." Memorial services in Mountain Home AR will be Thursday March 26th, 2pm at The Bridge Missionary Baptist Church 3368 Highway 62 SW, Mountain Home, Arkansas 72653, and Saturday April 11th 10:30am at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL 60523. Family contact information: Brian Lawless 910 N. Waiola, La Grange Park IL 60626.

We wish to express our deepest sympathy for your loss. The loss of someone in death is a pain none of us should have to endure.

Jehovah’s promises in The Bible provided our family great comfort when our father passed away and we hope that you can find a measure of comfort as well. John 5:28 says “Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all of those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”

Revelation 21:4 gives us great comfort in knowing that very soon, none of us will have to also experience the pain of losing a loved one again. It promises “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will morning nor outcry nor pain be anymore”.

Our deepest condolences to your family!

What a life force Eileen was!
Eileen was a loving sister to my father John, a devoted aunt to me, and a priceless gem to all her extended family and friends. Oh the enormity of our loss!!!!
We are now turning our attention to multiple celebrations of her life. There will be services in Mountain Home, Chicago, and Maui- dates are pending.
