Mrs. Kathryn ''Kay'' A. Brewer, age 86 of Mountain Home passed away Monday November 3, 2014 in Mountain Home. She was born November 6, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to John T. Major and Hazel Madden Major.

Kathryn held many jobs during her working career, She started as a social worker and then served as a police woman in Rockford, Illinois. She then became an LPN in Mountain Home and was a real estate agent working for Blackburn Realty and Homestead Realty.

She is survived by a daughter, Kristine Burt of Mountain Home; a daughter-in-law, Sue Comfert of Mountain Home; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard Brewer, 2 sons: Jim Comfert and John Comfert, a sister Jackie Murray and a grandson John Michael Comfert.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday November 7, 2014 at Roller Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Baxter Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.

Though we never met in person, we were the best of friends on via the computer. There are no words to express the loss I feel, I still think of my friend Kay everyday, every time I sign on the computer ... I love you & will miss you every day of my life. Barbara

Even though I haven't seen Kay or family for too long a time, I will always hold dear the memories. Kay was even able to teach this imp a few lessons in life. And a prank or two. We were all so blessed by her presence. God Bless you all and watch for her hugs, there will be many.....
