Mr. Kenneth A. Blake, age 74 of Mountain Home passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Baxter Regional Hospital. Kenneth was born to Maybel Lee Blake and Bert Blake on August 5, 1939 in Dennison, Texas.

He graduated from Mountain Home High School and served in the Arkansas National Guard for 9 years and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Kenneth built houses along side his step-father Bill Denny for many years. He worked as a custodian at Mountain Home High School for 11 years, later as the manager of River Lake Lanes where he was an avid bowler. Kenneth attended East Side Baptist church where he taught Sunday School for many years and worked with the Royal Ambassadors and Training Union. He also drove the church bus and took care of the grounds for several years. A simple man, Kenneth was loved by all who knew him. He loved his church family and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Kenneth is survived by one sister, June Blake Crawford of Mountain Home; nieces Kelly (Tim) Martin, Stacey (Rod) Covington, both of Mountain Home, Suzanne (Kevin) Lowery of Bolivar, MO; nephew Blake Jason Crawford of Bergenfield, N.J.; several great nieces and nephews, and a long time very good friend Nan Carole Morrow of Yellville, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents Maybel Lee Blake and Bert Blake, step-father Bill Denny, sister Betty Blake Warja and brother Donald Lee Blake.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 14, 2014 at Baxter Memorial Gardens.
Interment will follow at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Side Baptist Church Childen's Fund.

Ken was a wonderful, Godly man. He was a great Sunday School teacher and I always looked forward to seeing him and catching up with him as an adult. My thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
